The most common reason a well-designed strategy stalls is not the strategy. It is the communication architecture that was never built to carry it. Large organisations with strong technical cultures face a particular challenge when it comes to strategy rollout. The intelligence exists. The direction is clear. The leadership is capable. And yet something consistently gets lost between the room where decisions are made and the people who are responsible for acting on them. Part of this is structural. When communication functions are positioned to distribute rather than to shape meaning, strategy arrives as information rather than direction.
