About Boipelo Letlape

Boipelo Letlape is a visionary leader, governance advocate, and one of South Africa's emerging voices on African sovereignty, youth leadership, and systemic transformation. Born in Bangkok, in the outskirts of Hammanskraal, she carries the lived experience of a village upbringing into rooms at the highest levels of African continental leadership. She serves as Co-Chairperson of the African Youth International Forum Summit, a pan-African platform headquartered in Ghana, bringing youth into proximity with heads of state, ministers, and policy leaders across the continent. A former Deputy Chair of the Policy and Research Committee at the Black Management Forum South Africa (one of the country's oldest and most significant business leadership bodies) she has spent fifteen years at the intersection of corporate governance, policy development, and societal transformation. An alumna of the World Bank Group Institute for Economic Development and the Women, Business and the Law programme, Boipelo has engaged at the Pan-African Parliament, on continental platforms on migration and youth leadership, and in diplomatic and foreign affairs environments. Her voice is rooted in a single conviction: Africa possesses everything it needs to lead the world, and the most urgent work is not extracting more from the continent, but ensuring Africa extracts its own leadership on its own terms.
